Moulton FC visited Leighton Town looking for more points to consolidate their place in the end of season playoffs and were in control from the first whistle and should have gone ahead after 9 minutes when Luca Iaciofano failed to hit the target following a cross from Josh Adams, and not long after Josh Melling headed straight at the home keeper following a corner. The home side were happy to sit off and let the Magpies play at will and Nat Ansu had the next chance after being set up by the Aaron Dickins, Adams combo but couldn’t get any purchase on his shot and after 17 mins there was a good shout for handball in the box following another Melling header from a corner. The young Leighton side were showing nothing as an attacking force but at the other end the visitors continued to squander chances this time Iaciofano was put in by Adams but with Nat Ansu free in the 6 yard box he chose to shoot and the keeper blocked. Iaciofano seemed to be on the end of everything and another chance went begging following a far post cross by Dickins. With 5 mins of the half left Iaciofano’s under hit corner was partially cleared by the home defence but only out to Keiran Ashman who’s first time left foot shot flew past the post .

Albert Mensah replaced Melling for the second half and Moulton continued to dominate, and a great 4 man move nearly got Ansu in down the middle but the ball was slightly over hit and it ran through to the keeper, and shortly after Ansu saw a shot from close range saved by the keepers legs However after 61 minutes the pressure finally told Ben Jackson sprayed a ball out to Adams on the left touchline he rolled a pass to the overlapping Dickins and from his cross ANSU had the simplest of tasks to tap over the line from close range. With 70 minutes gone Rory Preston replaced Iaciofano and a couple of minutes later the home side had their first shot on target which was easily dealt with by Josh Durrant in the Magpies goal. Moulton continued to dominate and Ansu should have doubled his tally but somehow lost his footing close in after another Dickins cross. Totally out of the blue on 79 mins Leighton grabbed an equaliser when a corner from the right found its way to the middle of the box and Fabio Silvestri hit it first time on the volley and found the net despite a valiant effort by Durrant , this shook Moulton and they were under the cosh for the last 10 mins or so but held out for a point that really should have been 3 had the many chances created been converted.
