Moulton FC visited Rothwell Corinthians for the second time in 5 days this time in a league game after cup success the previous Thursday. The side showed 2 changes from Saturdays draw at Leighton Town with Joel Machakaire replacing Aaron Dickins and Albert Mensah in for Kieran Ashman. The Magpies pressed from the start and after Nat Ansu pulled the ball back in the box Cole Mason saw his goal bound shot brilliantly tipped over by the home keeper with only 3 minutes gone. The visitors kept up the pressure and went in front a minute later, Josh Adams put in the overlapping Josh Melling and when his cross was helped on by Luca Iaciofano, the predatory ANSU was in the right place again to convert from close in. Rothwell replied and should have drawn level after 11 mins when a corner to the back post saw a defender with a free header but he missed the target, and not long after Josh Durrant was forced to push over a long range effort as the home side pressed. The Magpies were under a little bit of pressure and the hosts got a deserved equaliser with 28 minutes gone, the rest of the half saw little goal mouth action and the teams went in level at half time.

Rothwell had the first chance of the second half when again Durrant was forced to tip over and they looked the more likely as they started to dominate the mid-field. Moulton responded and following an Iaciofano corner Melling saw a goal bound effort from 12 yards again brilliantly tipped over by the home keeper, and a couple of minutes later Dan White headed wide following an Andy Hall free kick . For the remainder of the half neither side really threatened and the only effort of note for the visitors came from White who shot wide from 25 yards after being set up by Andy Hall.
