A statement victory for Moulton, who were crowned Northampton Senior League South winners tonight.
Despite the title success, this fixture was a Mick Walden Shield semi-final—and Moulton delivered a performance to match the occasion. From start to finish, the team were superb, maintaining high standards throughout in a disciplined, error-free display.
Louie Kelly stole the show with a remarkable double hat-trick, leading the charge in front of goal.
Jamie Yusuf added a hat-trick of his own, while Toby Sainsbury and Marty Waddell both contributed two goals each—Waddell’s being his first for the club. Further goals came from Sheku Kamora, Charlie Dye (also his first for the club), and Alex Glover.
It was a brilliant all-round performance from the entire squad against Desborough, securing a place in the final.
A huge week lies ahead for Moulton, as they face Northampton Town in the County Cup Final next Thursday at Wellingborough Town FC KO 745 pm
