Moulton delivered a dominant performance on home soil as they swept aside a physical Desborough Town side with a confident 4–0 victory.
The hosts set the tone early, moving the ball with pace and precision, and their pressure paid off midway through the first half. Jamil Yusuf drove into the box and was brought down, earning Moulton a penalty. Toby Sainsbury stepped up with composure, slotting home from the spot to give Moulton a deserved 1–0 lead going into half-time.
Desborough came out battling after the break, using their physicality to try and disrupt Moulton’s rhythm, but the home side remained in control with sustained possession and a high-tempo approach. Their patience was rewarded as Jamil Yusuf struck twice in quick succession, showing sharp movement and clinical finishing to extend the lead to 3–0.
The final word belonged to debutant Joe Parsons, who capped off an impressive first appearance by firing in Moulton’s fourth. Toby Sainsbury, already on the scoresheet, added to his outstanding performance with two assists, influencing the game all over the pitch.
There were several standout performers across the team, with Munir Amour, Toby Sainsbury, and Jamil Yusuf all strong contenders for Man of the Match. However, an exceptional all-round display from Louie Kelly(sponsored by mc electrical)—full of quality, composure, and work rate—earned him the award.
A complete and confident team performance from Moulton, who controlled the game throughout and fully deserved their 4–0 victory.
Keep up the good work lads!!
