Wellingborough Town U18s 0–2 Moulton U18s
Moulton U18s returned to grass for the first time since September and produced a strong, disciplined performance to secure a 2–0 victory away at Wellingborough Town on a pitch that, despite recent heavy rain, was in excellent condition.
As always, Wellingborough proved a welcoming host and a tough opponent. Moulton enjoyed the lion’s share of possession in the first half but struggled to turn their control into clear-cut chances, with Wellingborough defending well and showing good organisation throughout.
With six players unavailable through injury, Moulton’s squad depth was tested, but those who stepped in did so superbly. The breakthrough came just before half-time when Adam Dicks unleashed a stunning strike from the edge of the box that flew in the top corner– a real screamer that gave Moulton a deserved 1–0 lead at the break.
Wellingborough came out for the second half full of energy and dominated the opening 15–20 minutes, putting Moulton under sustained pressure. However, Moulton weathered the storm and gradually worked their way back into the game.
With 20 minutes remaining, Moulton doubled their advantage. A well-delivered corner caused problems in the box and Ben Fulthorpe was on hand to finish it off, giving the visitors breathing space at 2–0.
To their credit, Wellingborough pushed hard until the final whistle and made Moulton work all the way, but the visitors stayed solid to see out the win.
Munir Amour delivered a standout performance and deservedly collected the Man of the Match, sponsored by Kingsley Bathrooms. Jamil Yusuf, Adam Dicks and Jude Goodacre were also excellent on the night
Another important & deserved 3 points for Moulton ..well done lads.
