Moulton Masters completed the Double winning both County Finals at Redwell on Sunday 18th August and now head towards National finals at St George’s Park via Regional Rounds at Derby next month.
Local Moulton ‘lad’ John Austin again led the Masters 60s to a 4-3 win over NTFC in the final (after being 3-0 down!). Team: Jon Wright*, Pete McCrone (Moulton Groundsman!), Derek Ellis, Colin Bilbe, Simon Hill and Dave Cotton-Howells*.
Meanwhile the 50s stormed their group with maximum points against Kettering Town, Rothwell Pirates and rivals NTFC. In three matches, Masters scored 15, conceding just 2. A 3-2 semi-final win against Rothwell, saw then through to the County Final against Kettering Town where they ran riot winning 7-1. A total of 25 goals scored in 5 matches!
