Francis Boateng joined Italian giants Inter Milan in 2014 age 16 and in 2017 was loaned out to Seria A side Hellas Verona. At the time he was being talked about as a possible International with Ghana (with whom he holds a joint passport as well as Italy). After leaving the Italian giants he trailed with Italian Seria C sides Vitus Verona and Bevanga but in late 2018 signed for United Counties side Bugbrooke. Magpies gaffer Gary Petts saw him play for the Badgers a few times and eventually signed him for Cogenhoe Utd where he was Manager at the time, and described him as a classy defender if a little irrational at times and was certain he could have played a lot higher if not for work commitments. When Gary became Manager here at Moulton in the summer of 2022 Francis was top of his “Go and get list “and that’s where it began for him here. He played in our first ever step 6 game against Buckingham in August 2022 and also in that line up that day were current players Andy Hall, Derek Okoye and Ben Jackson. He was made club captain and led the team to the Gladwich Trophy Final as well as picking up the Northamptonshire Junior Cup for the first time in the clubs history and followed that up in the 2023-24 season by captaining the side to the Spartan League Division 1 Ko Cup win as well as retaining the Junior Cup, 3 trophies in 2 seasons, not a bad record. All in all Francis played 86 times for the Magpies scoring 9 goals in the process and leaves the club in a far better place than when he joined it.
