Weather permitting, Moulton entertain Desborough Town at Brunting Road on Tuesday (7th) in the Quarter Final of the Division 1 Cup (KO 7:45pm).

The ‘Blues’ reached the quarter final with a 3-1 away win over at Leighton Town Res at the end of October whilst Moulton’s progressed with a 3-1 home win over Letchworth Garden City Eagles. The ‘Blues’ currently sit behind Moulton in the league (5th place) having 41 pts from their 17 games, but with 2 games in hand on Moulton with 42 pts. Moulton are currently on a winning streak of 5 games, whilst Desborough have won 3 of their last 4 league games (Rothwell away; Royston home; Huntingdon away), losing 1 away at Wellingborough Whitworth. As can be the case, league form can go out the window in cup games so we should be in for an entertaining game. Desborough, like Moulton remain in the Junior Cup after a win on penalties at home to Raunds and take on Roade at home on Saturday in the next round. In the league match at the beginning of November we shared the points with a 1-1 draw over at Desborough, Lewis Isom scoring after 51 mins only for Desborough to equalise 13 mins later.

Tuesday’s referee is Ben Compton who last officiated a match involving Moulton back in April 2023 when Moulton drew 1-1 (goal from Derrick Okoye) in normal time v Cockfosters in the Gladwish Challenge Trophy Semi-Final, going on to win 4-2 on penalties.
