U18’s Match Report v ON Chenecks U18

Moulton U18s showed resilience and determination to come from behind and secure a hard-fought 3–2 victory over Chenecks U18s on a difficult pitch.

The game could hardly have started worse for Moulton, who fell behind after just 15 seconds, as Chenecks capitalised on a shaky opening to take an early 1–0 lead.

Moulton responded well and eventually found their equaliser through Jamie Fuller, whose free kick took a fortunate path into the net to bring the visitors back into the game.

Despite tough conditions and a scrappy first half, Moulton produced the best piece of football before the break. A well-worked move saw Adam Dicks finish confidently to put Moulton 2–1 ahead, in what was arguably the only real moment of quality in the first half.

Chenecks, however, drew level again with a goal that appeared clearly offside, leaving the sides tied at 2–2 heading into the interval.

After half-time, Moulton began to take control of the game, dominating possession and pushing for a winner. The turning point came through a series of substitutions which injected energy and intensity into the side. Charlie Dye, George Steers, Mo Kahn, Kyarni Walful and Ralph Oluwole-Shikoku all made a significant impact, helping Moulton raise the tempo and maintain pressure.

The breakthrough finally arrived when Toby Sainsbury delivered the decisive assist for Adam Dicks, who calmly finished to score his second goal of the night and secure the winner for Moulton.

Dicks’ brace earned him the Man of the Match award (sponsored by Sabin carpentry ltd), though he was pushed close by impressive performances from Matty Wardell and Hugo Neve.

After a challenging start and difficult playing conditions, Moulton’s persistence paid off as they ran out 3–2 winners in an entertaining contest. Credit to Chenecks, they fought hard and really pushed Moulton all the way.
