Moulton FC Ladies
Women’s and girls’ football is one of the fastest-growing sports in the UK and, following the incredible success of the England women's national football team at UEFA Women’s Euro 2022, the game continues to grow bigger and stronger every season.
A far cry from the days when women and girls were not even allowed to play the game.
Our History
Moulton FC first introduced a Ladies team in 2010, with success quickly following. The club achieved a memorable County League and Cup Double during the 2014/15 season, before winning the East Midlands Division One title in 2015/16.
Following a return to the County League in 2016/17, the club entered a rebuilding phase, but more silverware soon arrived with the NTFA Cup victory in 2017/18.
The 2018/19 campaign saw the team narrowly miss out on the league title despite suffering four ACL injuries to starting players during the season — a huge setback for any squad.
Unfortunately, the arrival of COVID-19 then effectively wiped out two seasons of Ladies County League football.
When football finally returned in 2021/22, Moulton fielded a youthful side learning the demands of the adult game and finished mid-table. Continued progress followed with a fourth-place finish in 2022/23 and further improvement across the squad.
Season 2023/24 brought another strong campaign. The team again finished fourth in the league while also reaching the NTFA Cup Final, narrowly losing to an excellent Bugbrooke side. However, success did arrive in the League Cup Final with a superb 2–1 victory over Long Buckby.
In 2024/25, Moulton finished league runners-up to an outstanding Brackley Town side, who also edged past us in the cup competitions.
2025/26 Season
The 2025/26 season began with optimism and a new management team in place. However, circumstances led to former manager David Webb returning in an interim role during the campaign.
With a disrupted pre-season and limited time for recruitment, the squad started the season on the back foot but continued to battle throughout the year with great spirit, resilience and commitment.
The season ultimately culminated in a League Cup Plate Final victory over Crick, winning 4–1 on a blisteringly hot Bank Holiday Sunday. It was a performance that perfectly reflected the hard work, togetherness and team spirit that had been built throughout the season.
Looking Ahead
Looking ahead to the 2026/27 season, David Webb will remain in charge as Ladies First Team Manager as the club continues to build both on and off the pitch.
Pre-season training begins on Wednesday 1st July following the Open Trial Session on Wednesday 24th June, with the new campaign getting underway in September.
