Great conditions for a football match. Weather dull but low winds and reasonable temperature.
After 10 minutes of Moulton pressure, Steph won the ball in midfield and it broke to Sarah who had 2 attempts at a through ball, the second was headed on by a Buckby defender and Molly raced through the defence onto the ball and rifled a low shot into the corner for 1-0 Moulton. On 18 minutes, Jade and Amy won the ball in midfield and played to Sarah. She took two steps forward and rather ambitiously from 25 yards, hit a shot hard and high which was touched by the Buckby keeper with fingertips, but couldnt keep it out of the net 2-0 Moulton.
The next seven minutes saw Moulton ease up and Buckby came more into the game without creating very much. After 28 mintues Buckby number 7 decided to take a long range shot which went into the Moulton goal at the far post to make it 2-1 Moulton.
As halftime approached, Georgia was brough down near the goal line on the right, Amy and Georgia debated the kick but Amy it was who took it left footed. She hit it hard and high for the far post and the ball went straight in for 3-1 Moulton at the break.
Second half started with Moulton on the front foot with Georgia making a few good runs which weren't finished by Moulton's forwards.
Then on 49 minutes a speculative cross from Buckby wasnt dealt with by the Moulton rearguard and after a few scrambles a Buckby player prodded the ball in for 3-2 Moulton. Not an ideal start to the 2nd half and with 40 minutes to play an assault from Buckby was anticipated.
54 minutes had gone when Steph controlled the ball and tried a long shot which just cleared the crossbar. After 69 minutes Georgia switched to the left with Amelia-Jane coming on on the right of midfield and Moulton continued to press and not be intimidated by some rugged challenges from the Buckby players. One on Fi was bad but the referee who appeared to have tunnel vision, didn't agree. Fortunately Fi is made of sterner stuff and continued and kept her composure.
Buckby almost equalised on 77 minutes when confusion in Moulton's defence saw a Buckby play let fly only for the ball to just go past the post.
After 81 minutes Steph and Molly fought for the ball which found it's way to Georgia on the left, she smashed it in by the near post for 4-2 Moulton. Match seemed to fizzle out a bit and final result 4-2 to Moulton.

Player of the Match not in question today with Steph giving her all for the Moulton cause and deservedly picking up the award.
In defence, Cat and Fi were commanding and along with Jade who got crunched late on by a reckless Buckby challenge were outstanding. One sortie by Jade in the first half saw her beat almost all the Buckby team, advance on the goal and lose her composure and hit her shot against the keeper. Would have been a spectacular goal.
In midfield Charlotte had a commanding game and has really found her feet. Georgia and Sarah were their usual dependable selves. Antonella worked hard but her distribution was not up to her usual excellent self. Amy V had an impressive first half but faded a bit in the second, regaining some of her match fitness.
Up top Molly and Steph were constant threats to the Buckby defence and deserved their goals. Amelia is gaining fitness every week and plays well when brought on. Harriet was unwell in goal and came off at half time and Reedy ably stood in for the second half.
Still in the County Cup with sterner opposition to come.
