After 20 days without a game Moulton returned to action against ON Chenecks in a Spartan South Mids league cup game at Billing Rd. The Magpies had the first chance when Justin Mensah and Andy Hall combined but Nat Ansu shot over from distance, and the home side replied minutes later when a cross shot from the right hit the base of the Moulton post. With 20 mins on the clock Moulton forced 3 corners in quick succession but from the final one Albert Mensah shot well over. Neither side were creating any worthwhile chances but with 37 mins on the clock Chens took the lead when a corner on the right completely deceived Filipe Mederios on his comeback from injury and flew straight into the net.

Moulton started the second half strongly and grabbed an equaliser within 2 minutes, Ansu chased a ball into the corner of the penalty area and back healed to ARCHIE ELMORE who beat the home keeper at his near post. 5 minutes it looked like Elmore had grabbed a second but his flick header from an Aaron Dickins corner was judged not to have crossed the line (see pic above). Moulton had the hosts pinned back now and did take the lead after 56 mins when Dan White fed a ball into the path of ANSU and he finished clinically from 12 yards. Not long after Ansu had another chance but the Chens keeper saved with his feet but with 66 mins on the clock the pressure finally told. Elmore retrieved an over hit corner from Dickins but had 3 defenders to contend with, somehow he wriggled free and rolled the ball across the 6 yard box and ANSU had a simple tap in. The home side did come back into the game and created a couple of half chances and did grab a goal with 2 minutes left which made for a tense injury time for the Moulton faithful but thankfully the goal remained intact and the Magpies progressed to the quarter final.
