The second of a ridiculous run of 6 away games on the trot saw Moulton FC visit Pitstone and Ivinghoe in the Spartan League Trophy The Magpies had the first chance when Nat Ansu shot tamely at the home keeper and moments later Lewis Isom also failed to beat the home no1 after being set up by Ivandro Monteiro, but it wasn’t all one way traffic and Pitstone hit the crossbar and had a freekick blocked. With 26 minutes on the clock the visitors were unlucky not to take the lead when Luca Iaciofano displayed some neat footwork and after cutting in from the right and saw his dipping shot hit the crossbar. Moulton were getting on top and Andy Hall set up Dan White but he headed narrowly wide but after 32 minutes took a deserved lead, Hall broke into the box and his shot was parried by the keeper but only to ANSU who netted from close range. The home side were under mounting pressure now and as half time approached Josh Melling was desperately unlucky to see a header from a Jack Barnett corner brilliantly saved.
HALF TIME PITSTONE AND IVINGHOE 0 MOULTON 1
The second half started much like the first and a sweeping 4 man move ended with Isom shooting narrowly wide, before the home side also had a decent chance but the shot was too high. Moulton should have doubled the lead on the hour when Hall set Ansu free down the middle, the striker beat the keeper to the ball but his lob bobbled narrowly wide. Archie Elmore replaced Isom and moments later saw a shot go narrowly wide of the far post. Ed Uka and Harry Darnell replaced Iaciofano and Monteiro and with 9 minutes left Pitstone grabbed an equaliser against the run of play but within 6 minutes the Magpies went back in front when ANSU broke into the box before finishing clinically. With the home side pushing for an equaliser Moulton should have put the game to bed, firstly Darnell sprung the offside trap before setting up Junior Musvaburi who had replaced Ansu moments before but the ball bobbled in front of him and his shot hit the crossbar with the goal at his mercy and then Uka crossed from the right and both Musvaburi and Elmore failed to react and the chance was lost
