Moulton entertained Langford in the Spartan South Mids Division 1 on the back of an 8 game unbeaten run against a side who had improved somewhat since we visited them in mid- August. The Magpies started brightly and Nat Ansu had the first chance after only 4 minutes when put through by Dan White but the keeper saved easily, and not long after Ansu got through again and rounded the keeper but was forced wide and the chance was lost. Ansu was a real thorn in the visitor’s side and shot wide after being set up by Andy Hall, and after 25 mins he saw a free kick parried by the visiting keeper and the rebound fall behind Chief Boateng with the open goal beckoning. Langford were playing some decent football without threatening the home goal as the home side continued to press and from a Hall free kick skipper Francis Boateng saw a goal bound header hit a defender and go for a corner and minutes later after a mazy run from his own half his shot was again deflected for another corner. As the half ended Hall saw a shot parried by the keeper out to C Boateng but again his goal bound shot was deflected over the bar.

The second half was a strange affair with both sides playing some attractive football but neither had a cutting edge in the final third of the pitch and didn’t trouble the respective keepers save for one effort the home stopper Josh Durrant had to save low down by a post. Luca Iaciofano replaced C Boateng with 20 mins left in the hope of a little more spark up front for the home side but as time ran on it looked like a stalemate. With all the football being played to no avail it was a straight forward move that eventually won the game for Moulton with 90 mins on the clock. An old fashioned back to front ball up to ANSU saw the Magpies top scorer roll his marker before breaking free just outside the box and finishing with aplomb to give the Magpies all 3 points.
