Moulton entertained Langford looking to keep up their impressive 100% home league record but were missing influential midfielder Dan White. The game started in controversial fashion when the visitor’s keeper appeared to handle the ball outside his box but both referee and linesman disagreed. Langford had the first shot on goal a long range effort that went over with 5 minutes gone. The Magpies were looking most likely to score and after 17 minutes took a deserved lead when the keeper couldn’t hold a driven free kick by Lewis Isom and LUCA IACIOFANO pounced from close range and within 3 minutes it was 2-0, when Iaciofano intercepted a loose pass and advanced well inside the Langford half before squaring to NAT ANSU to finish clinically. The home side were rampant now and after 23 minutes it was 3-0, Derrick Okoye played a ball into Ansu and when he laid it back to the edge of the box IVANDRO MONTEIRO arrived right on cue to net from 12 yards. The home side were dealt a blow after 30 minutes when influential captain Andy Hall limped off with a knee injury and was replaced by Jude Goodacre. Langford were struggling to cope with Moulton’s tenacity off the ball and 6 minutes before the break they conceded a fourth goal. When another free kick from Isom was headed back by Josh Melling, Okoye tried a spectacular overhead kick which was blocked on the line but IACIOFANO was on the spot again to net the rebound.
HALF TIME MOULTON 4 LANGFORD 0
The home side started where they left off and within 5 minutes went further in front when Isom fed OKOYE on the edge of the box and he shrugged off a defender before finishing with aplomb. The visitors changed to a 3-5-2 in the second half in an attempt to flow the tide but were still struggling with Moulton’s pressing game and that was highlighted after 57 minutes when Monteiro won the ball high up and put ANSU in for his second of the game. Much against the run of play the visitors grabbed a consolation 2 minutes later with a back post header, but offered very little else and the game became dis- jointed as both sides made a wrath of substitutions. Debutant Matty Long could have put the icing on the cake late on but saw his shot parried after being put through by Adam Dicks.
