Bugbrooke St Michaels play at Birds Close, Bugbrooke and have been members of the United Counties League Premier Division South since 2021. Their away colours are Yellow shirts, Blue shorts & socks. ‘The Badgers’ were established in 1929 and named after the village church. They joined the Central Northamptonshire Combination in 1952, and won the league without losing a match in 1968–69. They retained the title the following season and were champions again in 1971–72. They were relegated to Division One at the end of the 1974–75, but returned to the Premier Division in 1976, going on to be champions again in 1976–77 and 1985–86. After finishing third in 1986–87, they moved up to Division One of the United Counties League. They won the Northamptonshire Junior Cup in 1989–90. After becoming Division One champions in 1998–99, the club were promoted to the Premier Division. However, they were relegated back to Division One at the end of the 2001–02 season after finishing second-from-bottom in the Premier Division. The club won the Northamptonshire Junior Cup again in 2011–12. In 2021 they were promoted to the Premier Division South based on their results in the abandoned 2019–20 and 2020–21 seasons. The following seasons has seen them finish in 15th (Season 21/22), 10th (22/23), 10th (23/24) and last season 16th with 25 points from their 26 games (10 wins; 5 draws; 21 defeats).
This season sees them languishing in 19th spot with 4 pts from their 10 games to date (1 win; 1 draw; 8 defeats). Their win came v GNG Oadby Town 2-1 (H), their draw v Leicester Nirvana 1-1 (H). Their defeats are equally divided between home (Histon; Godmanchester; Easington Sports & Nuneaton) and away (Lutterworth; Daventry; Hinckley & Yaxley). On Saturday they take on Hilltop away in the FA Vase (Update - Bugbrooke won 5-4 on penalties after 2-2 at full-time). Their only other win this season was in the UCL League Cup where they won 2-0 at home v Belper United. In the Hillier Cup they lost 1-2 away v Corby Town and the FA Cup lost 1-4 away v Sherwood Colliery.
