Moulton welcome Newport Pagnell Town to Brunting Road on Saturday for what will be their second home meeting this month, the previous match in the Sports Ground Development UCL Cup.
Prior to the two teams meeting in the Sports Ground Development UCL Cup at the start of September, Newport Pagnell Town’s start to this season had not commence that well, losing their first 5 games in the league and FA Cup (3 at home; 2 away). However, the preceding 4 league games prior to the game v Moulton had seen them win 3 and draw 1 (wins v March Town (A) 3-2; v Lutterworth (A) 2-1; v Godmanchester (H) 4-0 and a home draw v Lutterworth 1-1) and they occupied 9th place in the league with 10 points from the 8 games (3 wins; 1 draw 4 defeats).
However, since our 3-2 cup win they have won their last 4 games (2 lge; 2 cup) and have moved up to 6th place in the league with 16 points from their 10 games (5 wins; 1 draw; 4 defeats). In the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup they defeated Aylesbury Vale Dynamos 4-3 away and progressed in the FA Vase with a home win v Kings Langley, 2-1. In the league they won away at bottom of the table GNG Oadby Town, 6-0 before winning at home on Tuesday night v Eynesbury Rovers, 4-2.
Saturday’s referee is David Brennan who last officiated a match involving Moulton in April 25 when we drew 1-1 away at Ampthill Town.
