Aylestone Park were the latest visitors to Brunting Rd in the United Counties Premier Division South hoping to avenge a 1-0 defeat to the Magpies in late December in Leicester.
The visitors took control early on and were only just wide with a header in the first minute. Aylestone continued to dominate and Moulton’s first chance arrived in the 17th minute, but Adam Dicks pulled his shot wide of the target. The home side were struggling to string anything worthwhile together and at the other end Adam North had to be at his best to keep out a long-range effort and from the resultant corner Park took the lead. A drilled ball into the 6-yard box was headed goalwards, North got a hand to it, but Freddie Robinson was on hand to tap in the loose ball from close range.
HALF TIME. MOULTON 0 AYLESTONE PARK 1
Moulton had claims for a penalty early in the second half when a shot from Dicks from the edge of the box was blocked by a defender’s arm, but nothing was given. In the space of 3 minutes Aylestone wrapped up the game as the Magpies capitulated with some woeful defending and poor passing which allowed the visitors 3 goals, 2 from Louis Samuels and 1 from Connor Pace. Sadly, the humiliation continued and by the 66th minute it was 6-0, Samuels grabbing another 2 goals taking his tally to 4 for the game. Nathan Amaning , Terry Falcini and Manny Gbejuade entered the fray and gradually Moulton got a foothold in the game and grabbed a consolation goal with 8 minutes left. A corner from Lewis Isom was cleared to Dicks on the edge of the box, he hooked the ball back into the danger area Gbejuade helped it on and AMANING got a toe end to it past Elsom in the visitor’s goal. For the first time in the match the Magpies looked in control and scored again with the last kick of the game, Dan White and Isom were involved and when Dicks burst into the box he was brought down and FRANCIS BOATENG converted the spot kick. A bad day at the office for Moulton, who were outplayed for large parts of the game and a crazy spell of conceding 5 goals in 14 minutes saw them fall to a heavy defeat.
