After Tuesdays disappointing home draw against Yaxley, Moulton were in Cambridgeshire to take on Eynesbury Utd, and with a full squad available Manager Gary Petts had some tough if not welcome selection headaches.

The Magpies started brightly and had the first chance on 7 minutes when Kobi Bivens was just over with a header from a Lewis Isom corner, but 7 minutes later they did take the lead. Damian Osoimoiejokhian and Terry Falcini worked an opening down the left and ADAM DICKS was on hand to convert the cross at the back post for his second goal in 2 games, and soon after it was 2-0, Osoimoiejokhian won the ball 10 yards inside the Moulton half and a defence splitting pass sent MO KHAN clear and he finished clinically past home keeper James Hoskins from just outside the box.

The visitors continued to dominate proceedings and Hoskins produced a great save from Luke Stevens when he stole in at the far post following a cross from Isom, and from the resulting Bivens corner neither Osoimoiejokhian nor Dante Grey could convert at the far post. The half ended with Falcini twice testing the home keeper and the Magpies went into the break well worthy of the 2-goal lead.

The Eynesbury management reacted to the Moulton dominance by making three half time substitutions and for a 15 minute spell at the start of the half they dominated possession but didn’t trouble the visitors defence and during that time the Magpies had a great chance to increase the lead, Dicks released Isom down the right and he skinned his full back before cutting deep into the home penalty area but when Hoskins beat away his shot there were no attacking players close enough for what would have been a tap in.

The visitors wrestled back the initiative and when Dan White won a header from a Grey free kick Khan stole in but shot straight at Hoskins from close range, but a third goal arrived on 68 minutes. A long goal kick from keeper Adam North was flicked on by White and set Isom clear on the right and when his far post cross was headed back by Falcini , KHAN bundled the ball over the line after his first effort was saved, for his second brace in successive games. Against the run of play the home side grabbed a goal 3 minutes later when a long throw into the Magpies box was won at the near post and the ball broke to Rhys Thorpe unmarked on the 6-yard box and he found the corner of the net.

Any thoughts of a comeback were dashed however with 12 minutes left in the game, some persistent work by Khan won his team a corner, and from the resultant kick by Isom, LUKE STEVENS stole in at the near post to flash a header into the roof of the net to make it 4-1. Moulton brought on youngsters Kian Brown and Jaxon Bedford along with the not so young Lewis Fisher for the last 10 minutes or so and Brown was involved in what should have been a fifth goal for Moulton. After breaking forward he played an inside pass to fellow sub Fisher and his first time pass set Tyson Aluko free inside the area but he shot was straight at Hoskins and the ball was cleared.

Save for a spell at the start of the second half this was a dominant display by the Magpies, and they were well worthy of the 3 points and with it extend their unbeaten run, in league and cup to 8 games.
