Jnr Cup (H)
Lost 1-5
(H/T 1-2)
Moulton hosted Daventry reserves in the side's first ever outing in the Junior cup, having previously only been in the Lower Junior cup. Having lost comprehensively to Daventry earlier in the season, we knew it would be a difficult day.
The game started at a high tempo, with visitors dictating much of the play. After 10 minutes, Moulton started their own downfall, trying to play out from the back but got caught out. Daventry's Joseph Hampson formerly of this parish, squeezed it in at the near post.
Moulton replied 3 minutes later with a ball by Greg releasing Davide, who avoided the full back tackle and passed the ball past the on rushing goalkeeper.
Moulton continued to plot their own downfall as Thomas who had spent much of the first half chasing his winger's shadow, finally got close enough to him to pull him down, unfortunately it was inside the box. The penalty was dispatched well and resulted in Daventry having a 1-2 lead at half time.
Moulton came out ready to battle in the second half but it was short lived as an unmarked man volleyed a corner in after 50 minutes to make it 1-3.
Things went from bad to worse in the 55th minute as a shot from 25 yards found a way into the net.
5 minutes from time, Daventry completed the scoring from the penalty spot again, after Thomas had brought down his winger again and again the Daventry goalscorer was formerly of this parish in Shaun Fotso.
