Won 2-1
(H/T 0-1)
Moulton entered the 1st round of the Lower Junior Cup today, travelling to Kingsthorpe Rec to face Kingsthope Jets.
Moulton and Kingsthorpe both struggle to create much, with Moulton struggling to get any grip on the game. Kingsthorpe looked dangerous from a long throw, but nothing came of them. In the 10th minute, Kingsthorpe had their best and only real chance of the afternoon. A long ball forward in the middle of the pitch heading for a throw in, hit an over hanging tree branch and stayed in. The ball fell kindly to Kingsthorpe midfielder whose through ball should have been cleared easily by the keeper. We will be kind and say it bobbled, as he missed the whole ball, leaving an empty net for their striker. Moulton responded positively and created chances without finding the net. Brogan headed wide, Davide fired over and Kyle shot was block for a corner.

A tactical change by Phil, paid near immediate dividends, with Toby sneaking in at the back post to volley in the equaliser in the 50th.
Moulton then took the lead through Davide in the 55th. He outmuscled his centre half and shot across the goal, with the ball finding the back of the net via the woodwork. Moulton had further chances to increase their lead, with Leon hitting it wide when it was easier to score. Moulton gave little change to Kingsthorpe, with long throws and an indirect freekick being defended impeccably.
