The matches between all Moulton and Earls Barton this season have all been competitive and sometimes controversial and today it proved to be both.

The first 18 minutes were tight and both sides had few chances until the away side scored after the ball fell in to space on the edge of the 18 yard area making it 0-1. Moulton kept at it but despite several chances failed to score before the break. The first half ended 0-1.

The second half was more open and chances were being created on both sides with Moulton looking the more likely to score especially from the set piece and had two chances cleared off the line from corners before Noel bundled the ball over the line from a corner to equalise on 69 minutes. The game turned in Moulton’s favour but also became more and more bad tempered, eventually the Moulton’s pressure told Seb scored Moulton’s second on 76 minutes from a shot inside the box now making it 2-1. Finally tempers flared and a red card was shown to an Earls Barton player on 79mins and unfortunately a red for us on 80 mins for a crushing tackle putting both sides down to 10 men.

The game ended 2-1 and Moulton go through to round 3 of the plate.
