MOULTON U18s 4–1 EYNESBURY ROVERS U18s

Moulton faced something of the unknown as Eynesbury Rovers visited Brunting Road in the FA Youth Cup.

Moulton made an excellent start, with skipper Toby Sainsbury opening the scoring before turning provider for Jason Ferreira, who grabbed his first goal of the season.

Kye Bascombe and Jack Gill caused Eynesbury huge problems down Moulton’s left-hand side throughout the first half.

Sainsbury was then brought down for a penalty, picked himself up and calmly converted to give Moulton a commanding lead… could have been a few more but for the eynesbury keeper saving a good few opportunities and Moulton hitting the woodwork an two occasions, and also having a direct corner disallowed randomly…

HT: 3–0

Eynesbury came out a completely different side after the break and put Moulton under real pressure. Moulton defended well but also relied on Mason Webb, who produced several excellent saves at important moments.

Moulton weathered the storm and, after a change of shape for the final 20 minutes, regained control.

A brilliant finish from Sainsbury completed his hat-trick and made it 4–0.

With virtually the last kick of the game, Eynesbury grabbed a deserved consolation with an absolute worldie of a free-kick.

Special mentions to charlie seaman, Mason Webb, Kye Bascombe, Jack Gill and a tireless performance from Liam Boddington, but another very good performance from the whole squad. Well done lads????
